X won't load!

Came in this morning and fired up X, I get an error saying ...

Over the weekend Windows ran a critical update and restarted my pc. Friday everything was shut down and locked.

 

I found these files with a search in the C:WINNTsystem32.... is that where they are supposed to be?

Anyone have any ideas?

Morning Bill, My computer updated over the weekend too, but X was ok this morning still. Sounds like you are having a run of bad luck with X the last couple days.

 

Edit: whoops, didn't read too well, my computer is running XPpro, not that any of this helps your problem, but it helps my post count.

I couldn't figure out how to un-register. Could not get apply to highlight so I re-booted again.

 

Seemed to work, rebooting again, because now it's working.

 

Monday morning gremlins I guess.
