View settings on the heads up toolbar, the one at the top of the screen in the graphics area. Realview is under there.

I have the same setup as you gcode, but with the 4000, and it rocks, as im sure you know.. I have a dell u3011 monitor to go along with it, im in computer heaven here

I moved to Phoenix about 6 months ago, and work in Mesa. Welcome

I have used mastercam since v3, and have designed molds and dies using only mc for many years. In the last few years I have moved into full time tool design, and now use solidworks, but mastercam was always more than capable to draw anything I needed, and has saved my xxxx a few times when I couldn't get something converted or cleaned up in solidworks.

Orange County, worked for Ernie for awhile, had my own shop with my dad for 8 years in Corona, etc.

I haven't checked with the reseller yet, figured I would wait till I get there, leaving Mich. June 10th, arriving there the 12th, just testing the waters here in emastercam. Searching for mastercam jobs on career builders, monster, etc. just doesn't come up with much in Phoenix. I know there is a lot of manufacturing there, but its not like socal. If my parents weren't living in Phoenix I might have headed back to the old socal stomping grounds, but cost of living is so high there just not sure I want to jump into that mess atm. Thanks for that thought Hardmill, I may try something like that if I don't get anything I like in the mastercam/solidworks area. to tell the truth I would really prefer solidworks design over anything else, either mold or die. I have a good background in designing sheetmetal forming tools, deep draw stuff, appliances, washer/dryers, automotive, etc. but may have to fall back on machining to get in the door, you know how that goes..

About to fall off the first page, still looking for input. Man, there are tons of jobs in socal, doesn't anyone in Phoenix do any machining??

No one in Phoenix area have any leads on shops that are using Mastercam and/or Solidworks? They don't have to be hiring, I can still maybe talk my way in..

Well, the time has come and I'm moving to Phoenix in 3 weeks, Michigan has dried up for me and my family. I live in a small town and have drove 40 miles each way for work for the last 7 years, Now the kids are all out of school, and we can't all drive for work, so were going to the big city (my parents are there too, so killing two birds). I have used mastercam since version 3.1, and have been designing forming tools in mc and solidworks for the last 7 years. Before this job, I spent 8 years designing injection molds in mc and pro/e. Before that I had my own shop with my dad in socal and did aerospace job shopping. I am a computer geek as lots of us are, and have supported engineering depts. everywhere I have worked, installs, troubleshooting, training others, etc. If anyone in the phoenix area knows of someone that can use an all around cad/cam guy, please let me know, either here or by email. I have designed molds, dies, etc. in Mastercam for years before I got into a real solid package. I started with pro-e and now use solidworks for design, but have a seat of mc design also since we use mastercam for our cnc programming, and I can ready the files for their use before they hit the shop, ie naming levels, adding notes, etc. I also have all the translators on mc and there are times when sw doesn't translate customer files as well as mc, and I need to have the tools to get the job done asap. We have a typical 2 week lead time no matter how tough the prototype stamping is. My point is, you can design anything in mc and if you are interfacing with the shop for nc programming you really can't go wrong learning to design in mc. The tools are all there, learn how to use them and you won't be sorry using mc for design, even if it isnt a "real" design software..

Over the years I have usually had to grind my own tools for butress threads, maybe they are more readily available these days, its been awhile..
