Another solids question

Hi again. I created a part that ended up being two solids. Is there a way to join them? I ask because when I try to go into the "layout" c hook, it only lets me pick one of the solids.

Not knowing the extent of your part, when you were creating the part in question, did you try the "add to boss" function?

When I created the first part of the, well, part, I used mode (I shouldn't have). Then I added what should have been the boss, but was actually another solid. I have since just recreated the part correctly.

But still, is that what "sewing" is?

So you know for next time when you have two solids touching like this.

use "Boolean" and "add" this will join the two solids to one.

Just a little info concerning the 'sew' function.

This is basically used when you want to create a volumetric solid from a series of surfaces and that these surfaces do not correctly join each other at the intersections.

The problem in this case is that the surfaces are not watertight, so it becomes virtually impossible to create a volume from these surfaces.

When 'sewing' the surfaces together, you actually end up repairing the gaps between adjacent surfaces permitting the creation of a volumetric solid.
