Who knows if I can give by myself a zerro point to begin a pocket in mastercam 8.1 it takes all the begin points by itself so far I can see but I will make a hole were I can begin with my mill. [email protected]

Create a point inside your pocket.

Now chain that Point first, then chain your pocket geometry second. select done

Your tool (End mill) will enter the pocket at your selected point. Neat huh

If you're just doing a 2D pocket, when selecting your chain, first pick the point where you want to start (with point mode) and after, pick the chain. That's it

My .02, in the chain manager add chain and select the point that you want to begin the pocket. Reorder the point before the pocket simply with a drag and drop. As easy as mothers milk, so simple your dog could do it!

IF you wanna get a litte fancy with point entry inside a pocket.Create a new "layer/level". Then Do a backplot in step mode/ save as geometry. "Stop" the backplot at the toolpath pocket rapid start position. Now use xform /translate/between points. Now move your point to that pocket rapid postion & do a regen. This will cut out that dumb linear move before the pocket routine begins. Cuts cycle time Neat huh

Dont for get to delete your backplot geometry

Use delete level
