Starting to get a grip on mastercam now with the aim to resurect an OLD(20yrs) Victor tc that is gathering dust in the uni basement. Machine is fitted with a fanuc 10t control with a dead display (were working on that part) Would any of the generic posts included with mastercam work for that machine, or would i need to write a post to get it going?

any ideas eagerly awaited. (all exept forget about it)

Depending on what it needs.

The mplfan is a "pretty good" post stock.

I would think most of it could be done by a novice with some guidance.

One thing to ALWAYS remember with post work is to always backup your post befroe making changes to it, so at least if you screw to pooch you fall back on the original and start again.

use your Mplfan post it will work except for the little stuff. dry run your program and see what it needs. don't forget to save as your post and you can play with it. if you read the info at the top it will get you started. you can edit your program until you get your post right.

good luck
