Preparing digital image for mastercam ART

I just wasted a whole day of work by getting blurred pix of my part and reproducing it inside ART.

 

Is there any guide line for beginners about how to take digital pictures with the right noise free condition so that it is readily processable inside mastercam art?

 

this is frustrating and i know its caused by my stupidity......

 

BTW,i have a simple carved profile of leaf and flowers that i want to reproduce in ART..

I use paint shop pro for pre-editing image files for art. It has a ton of tools such as despeckle blur,smooth, unsharpen, etc for the image plus you can work with the colors themselves to get good quality art files.

Adobe PhotoDeluxe home edition came with one of the computors, seems to do a good job of editing/cleaning pics.

 

Sometimes it is faster to import a raster image into a cad programe and trace over it.

 

Rhino & 3DS are a couple I use.

OK, i'm no expert cameraman or photo editor but here is the best picture that I can come up with:

 

 

the surface that I get from Mastercam is very irregular (cavity coming out as boss, etc.)

 

Can anyone tell me how to get a better piture for Mastercam art?
