Thanks Ron,

My old post omitted most of the text, but I'm switching to a new post here and though I'd give it a try in the CD. I'd really like to have more text available, but the dam haas machines alarm with anything more than 50 ? or so characters. Got any ideas as to getting post out put something like:

code:

%

O0000

(PROGRAM NAME - if its over 50 characters )

(go down to another line and continue)

( 02-01-06 20:58 )

N100 G20

N102 G0 G17 G40 G49 G80 G90

( 3/8 BULL ENDMILL 0.0625 RAD TOOL - 272)

( DIA. OFF. - 272 LEN. - 272 DIA. - 1. )

N104 T272 M6

N106 G0 G90 G54 X3.4731 Y1.5 A0. S1426 M3

I'm competent enought to pull stuff out of a post biggrin.gifbiggrin.gif , but I'd rather have all the info just on multiple lines.

Yeah, I'm going thru this right now editing a post. Checked, unchecked it does not matter the error comes up. It has no affect on the posted code though. Just very annoying, especially since there does not seem to be a way to turn it off.

Just rereading, wonder if it's the same post?

The one I am working on is the Generic Haas 4ax.

thx for the look-see John,

Yup, I'm messing with the Generic Haas 4ax too. What are you trying to do with yours?

mine needs to:

-limit ( ) output to 80 characters

-M09 needs to be BEFORE G91 G28 Z0.

I also did away with 1=g54, 2=g55, 3=g56, etc. We prefer 54=g54, 55=g55, etc. Much easier to keep things straight.

Another thing I've noticed that it doesn't matter if rot_on_x is on or off, the Machine Def. (with or without an A axis) trumps that.

I also can't seem to get this working either:

code:

stagetltype : 2 #0 = Do not stage 1st tool

#1 = Stage 1st tool at last tool change

#2 = Stage 1st tool at end of file (peof)
