Yes Jim. the holder definition is new in the HS toolpaths. Of course, the intent is to have this definition in all toolpaths in upcoming releases.

There's so much new functionality in the HS toolpaths it's tought to know where to start. Just play with them; you'll figure it out! And if you haven't looked at the videos for HS yet, definately do. They do a very good job explaining and demonstrating the functionality and benefits of these new toolpaths.

anyone else having problems with the misc values in the new HS toolpaths?

one sphinxter clenching feature on these toolpaths is under the linking parameters..using the minimum vertical retract with the output feed move turned off...rapids between bosses & stuff, but misses everything. I chickened out and put full vertical retract after running my first part.

one thing I would like to see on this would be able to select geometry for the use z depth...much like you can on the old surface toolpaths.

You mean like this...

It seems to do it kinda automatically. I picked a solid block for drive surfs, and a containment boundary at the deepest point I wanted to cut. When I picked detect limits, the -.2391 depth is where my boundary is in z. I like the minimum retract alot, set to clear by .050, lots fun to watch people who stop to watch it run biggrin.gif Of course I have only used it so far in carbon. See how ballsy I feel one inch deep in a hardened, almost finished cavity block.
