cutter compensation

Hi All,

when i use a contour toolpath using cutter comp. on the haas machine it gives an error and the progrom doesnot run but when i verify in mastercam the tolpath runs.i had changed the lead in and i had also put the arc move greater than then the tool diameter.can your help me in this problem.

If you code line has ij call outs on it that means it is probably a G2 or G3 arc command, and many controls will not accept cuttercomp on an arc. It must be a linear move ie. G1. HTH

 

I had this problem when going from fadal to fanuc control. The Fadal had no problem with cuttercomp being on an arc move, the fanuc said no no. I had to change my programing style and defualt operations accordingly.
