posts for version X

I am thinking of getting version X, I am now on version 9.

I am concerned about the posts, we have made extensive modifications to our posts.

 

Will I need to develop new posts for version X or can I use my current posts?

 

Will my current posts do everying version X demands?

There is an update post c-hook that you will use to update your post. It can also create your machine and control definitions, something new for X. Your post may require some minor tweaking, but it is well worth it, IMO.

Just a friendly P.S. do not assume that x is going to be a cake walk just because you are proficient in v9. Geometry creation is just different enough to give you headaches. A MUCH greater emphasis on icons may or may not be an issue, but you will just have to get through it.

There are a LOT of threads from folks belly-acking about how they cannot do this or that, (but you can). I still have my struggles but I'm getting through them ,and as someone else said, dive in the waters fine. Peter mill level 3 ver x

The biggest problem I've seen is a change in X where if the n (n$) varible isn't formated correctly it leads to a lot of blank lines being output. It's easily fixed. relavent emastercam thread

Unlike the V9 Mastercam CD which has a great aray of posts on the CD, Mastercam X has only a few and there only Fanuc. So the only way to get a post into X is to update your V9 post through the C-hook or contact your reseller for a X post.

There are e few bugs updating your V9 to X post but your reseller our this Forum is a great place to start for help.
