Haas coldfire controller

Is anyone else having problems with their Haas coldfire controller like erroring out on loading programs into it. I am using MCX and cannot seem to get the controller to take even a simple program.

error code # 244 more than 80 per line and code 197 misc software error.This is a brand new machine with 20 gig hard drive and 16 meg memory

I dont have the manual in front of me. Did you look up error messages, or if your manual is like the new one's we have, it took out the error message part of the manual.

 

It sounds like more than 80 per line is how much you have in a comment line between parenthesis.

They took out the error messages in ours also You are correct in the 80 per line. Our other Haas's will take the programs with no problem. I have to load into a Mini-Mill and save it back to disk and then load it into the VF-6 something seems wrong with that Haas is banging it's head to try and figure this out. First they said it was MC X then maybe Windows XP. It seems to me to be a software issue on Haas's side. Not my desktop

How fast are you sending the programs? We only send at 38400 bps. I tried 115200 and it wont take it if the cable is longer than 20ft. If thats not it, call haas Monday and they will tell help you. If you find out, let me know what it is. I am interested.

It does not matter what way floppy, flash or rs232 programs will not load unless I load them into another machine first then save then then I can load them into the machine. I will not be in the office on Monday but my attention will be back on this matter on Tuesday, I will be training for 5 axis on Monday

Do you have a small file that you might be having a problem with printed directly the way its sent to the machine from mastercam. It could be something in the comments. Not sure but if I could look at it I may be able to tell you.If so, email it to me so I can read it.

Try comparing the original file with the one saved from the other machine.

If you can see a difference in the files then you should be able to see what is causing the problem.
