Z construction depth changes by itself

Anybody else have the Z construction depth set itself to whatever it feels like and for no apparent reason ?

 

I have been trying to pay attention to whether it's me or Mastercam or what sequence leads up to it but I can't figure it out.

 

I work in "copied" WCS a lot. Maybe that's related...

I have not seen that at all Matt.

 

I use WCS all the time created in several different ways.

It has happened to me several times in X but not recently. I have no idea of the cause.

I think I may be onto it here...

 

I finally thought to compare the number it changes to with my WCS... Same number...

 

In other words, my current WCS is a copy of system "BOTTOM" but it's been shifted by x-.3125, y -4.1, z1.8375...

 

That's what my construction depth changed to...

 

Just gotta figure out what triggers it...

 

Usually when I am dimensioning, I think...

I can now duplicate this.

 

new file

open view manager

copy top WCS and add values to the xyz fields

set this copy of top as your current WCS

create note

watch the z construction depth while creating the note...

 

Whatever value you made up for your z in WCSis now in your construction plane.

 

create a couple lines by clicking random points...

 

The note and lines are at zero relative to your created wcs...

 

Now switch to isometric view and create a couple more lines...

 

These lines are above the created wcs by the value that entered itself in the construction height box.

 

This has been making me for MONTHS !

 

Anybody else get the same thing (just to be sure) ?

I put -1. in the copied WCS, the last set of lines was created 1" below the -1" I set in the WCS

I tried it without creating the note and it behaved normally, something about creating the note seems to trigger it off.

Yes it's the note triggering it but also strange that it creates everything on one plane until you change the view... Then the new height takes effect.
