Problems opening SolidWorks files

Several posts have been made lately regarding the inability for some users to read in SolidWorks .SLDPRT files into Mastercam X MR2. For several users, the fix has been reregistering SWDocumentMgr.Dll in the CommonSWorksData sub-folder under your MR2 installation folder. Reregistering can be done in either of 2 ways...

 

1)Using the DOS window, go to the CommonSWorksData sub-folder of your MR2 install and type...

 

regsvr32 swdocumentmgr.dll

 

OR....

 

2) un-register and then re-register the SwDocumentMgr.dll file using the Mastercam X utility in the control panel.

 

 

... (SWDocumentMgr.Dll is a tool provided to us by SolidWorks for reading their files, and apparently either installing MR2 or installing SolidWorks 2006 cause our knowledge of where this .DLL lives to go astray)
