Xform Offset Contour function

When I use the Xform Offset Contour function to offset a 2D NURBS Spline I end up with multi lines instead of a spline. Is there a way to control the output? (We use MR2 Release)

I don't think there is a way to change the out put of the lines there.

 

So after you offset your contour, go create spline >> create curves spline >> pick the curves >> set it to delete the curves >> hit apply and you'll have your offset spline.

 

I know couple extra steps but it'll get you there.

if you use xform offset it will stay as a spline

If it is a closed spline should it offset and stay as one? if it is open I see it working but it doesn't seem to offset when it is closed. I did what John said above to get it to work.

I just created a closed spline and it offsetted no problem.

Tried a few diffrent Splines no trouble.

Are you sure you're getting a spline?

 

I created a closed spline and so far I can only generate lines/arcs.

 

If you're getting a spline I wonder what setting you have that is different.

No, I was using offset contour.

 

I just tried offset and you are correct it did offset the spline, closed, and created a spline.
