MR2 install

Any Ideas?

First I uninstalled X

Then did the MR2 install. (Download from MC)

Here are the errors:

 

error 1350 (data1.cab is corrupted......)

error 2350

error 1603 (Fatal error.. windows msi.chm or msdn)

 

I even downloaded MR2 3 times. Same errors.

The only thing I can think of is...

 

When I got my new pc it had the nvidia active armor firewall. It was corrupting downloads. I killed the firewall and no more download problems.

Maybe you could try and download it elsewhere and save on a disc to bring to work ?

2 questions:

Did you have MR1 installed and working earlier?

Did you try installing MR2 without uninstalling X?

 

I'm just speculating here so don't take what I say as an informed opinion.

My understanding is that MR2 should just overwrite MR1 but maybe some files need to be copied from one to the other?

 

I downloaded and installed MR2 while leaving MR1 installed and had no problem. At one point it asks if you want MR2 as a parallel install with MR1 or as a stand-alone. I chose stand-alone install of MR2 and it worked just fine. Maybe you could try both ways if it still doesn't work.

First install I chose stand alone to overwrite mr1. Same error.

Then I uninstalled all MR's and chose stand alone and same error.

Then downloaded and tried to install MR2 2 more times: same errors.
