  1. Hi John, Yes, I still have X2 installed on the same computer. So, I open X2, load lathe, open tool manager, look at a lathe tools library tools. I pick a couple of uniquely named tools and they have coolant on. Close. Next, I copy this library to the X4 lathe tools folder. I open X4, load lathe, open tool manager, look at the uniquely named tools again and "coolant off". So,X4 changes this coolant setting? By the way, this did NOT happen in mill with the exact same procedure. Thanks John, Andy
  2. After installing X4 my tool libraries from X2 have all the tools coolant turned off. They were all on in X2 Tools have to be changed one at a time! Hundreds of tools. This was a problem back in X1. Is it still a probelm?
  3. Looks like I have yet another reason to hold off on upgrading to X4. X2 is working fine for me. Makes it feel like maintenance is a waste though. However, MC eventually gets this kind of stuff sorted out.

Mic 6, I about fell over! Coolant options!!!!! Andy
  5. I am also a one man shop. I am on maintenance also. I also do not understand why we get more problems not less problems when new releases come out. I refuse to use the newer versions until the complaints quit. e.g. (I am using X2 mr2 presently). I do not have the time to mess with the problems. X3 and X4 are sitting there on the shelf and will stay there. I learned the hard way from 9.1 to X. I went back to 9.1 until x2mr2 then upgraded. So when a new release comes out I simply ignore it until it is improved and fixed if ever. Then I pretend that it just came out and install it.
  6. I wrote a barpull routine in the post that uses the cutoff operations' misc reals and integers. After cutoff the routine starts. Misc Integer 9 Barpull? yes 1 no 0______X Misc Integer 10 Tool #____________XXXX Misc Real 9 Grab at abs Z=________-Z.ZZZ Misc Real 10 Pull Distance inc. Z=____Z.ZZZ
  7. Criterion makes a boring head with a single point insert. It will bore from 1.5-2.7 Dia. With an extension cat 40 holder (we made our own extension) to get the depth. This boring head is very accurate and rigid and would do the job. Cri-bore system. OOOOPS! 1.574 min bore. Sorry.

  14. Still have 9.1 as a back also. Actually used it once last month. Otherwise X2 and when all the bugs are gone X3. First priority: Spend time making parts. Second priority: Spend time dealing with buggy software improvements.
