having problems trying to install mc9 and mcx on a new computer w/ windows xp media center, what I found : driver conflicts. Does anybody knows what drivers are those so if posible I can get rid of them.

You will have to use the updated HASP drivers for any XP flavor if installing V9.

I cannot believe there would be any advantages to using Media Center over Pro at all. There are probably limitations instead.

we have xp media ctr in our conference room. it's great for photo's, slide shows, demos etc...etc..

 

advantage of media ctr running cad software = none

i don't recommend it at all.

 

to my understanding windows media ctr is like win xp pro minus some networking capabilities. it can be networked (as our is) but it's not as straight forward as it should be.

 

imo media ctr won't get the support that xp pro recieves either.

Yea media center is nothing more than a beefed up Home version. Go with Pro for networking purposes.

Some of the guys in the shop were asking about getting dimo of X, but they have Media Center at home. Can X run on Media Center?

Well so much for I'd never consider running X on Media Center, that's what the new laptop has installed so that's what I am running it on.

I have a few customers running MC on Media center.

as for pro I suggest this for companys that run a network with a domain controler and also more option for control over secuirty settings.

 

I run Home and pro here. the biggest issue for me is I can not connect the Home XP to my doamin controler.

I have Design LT running on a Media Center PC. So far no issues. Course there's not really anything that is seriously taxing that you can do with it either.
