Config Files

Hi all, I know this subject has been covered but I can't find it. I am installing mr1 on a new workstation and want to migrate my configuration files to the new box. Can someone that has done this take a couple of minutes and share.

Its easy if your on a network. I just copied my entire Mcam folder and at the new box, pulled in what I needed. (Toolbars,machine defs,posts, and my default configurations from my home station box). When your done, dump the file.

If you dont have a network, burn the folder to a cd; if you dont have a burner, have fun with floppys.

Corporate just hasn't paid the piper as of yet. I was told the po was cut yesterday but thats like the check is in the mail and I won't c@$ in your mouth right?

 

Actually I hear 11 or a close facsimile is ready for release. Hmmm new pooter new version? Thought christmas was still a couple of months away? Must have been a good boy.

I didnt realize that you even needed maintence to upgrade from mr1 to mr2. Did you try the mr2 web download on mastercam.com, or do you need a new sim update to run mr2? I cant remember.

Nut, it definately is a maintenance problem according to the error dialog I get and my resellers word.

 

Lou I didn't try the zip2go. I have the entire mcx directory on a shared drive on the lan but you know I have to set up premadonna's box and I would rather not have to do it longhand. I really thought there was a utility to do this very thing. My reseller say'd grab the mcam.config and put it in place of the new one but that had no effect. I will do it longhand if needed but I have some time to research it so here we go

Think Lafayette didn't short out when that word got to them? I know it's bad but you have to take the shots when they present them-self's
