Adding coolant options

Can someone help me? I have an Okuma mcv-4020 with programmable air. It turns on with an M12.

So my question is can anyone explain how to make this an option under my coolant settings.

Go into your post and use

sm08_1  M07     #Coolant Mist

change it to

sm08_1  M12     #Coolant Mist

---

The go into your machine def, general machine parameters, and change the name of Mist to Air

 

Save out and it should then be available, if you need to set air off then use the sm09_1 and do the same

Thank you for your help? would you be able to help me change some other things; like the G53 Z0. command and only post "A" axis when rotationis being used.

I am not real good at post editing butting the more I read on here the more it makess sense.

I updated the post from V9. It is MPOkuma.pst. I changed the G53 Z0. and the tap cycle to G284 both posted out. But I Could not find the anything I was willing to change without the knowledge on "A" axis.

I am using a fv series high speed milling center with a fanuc series 18i-mb controller and I tried changing the M-CODE in the post to support an air blast only but it did not change the NC result. Is there an order of saveing the changes that I missed. On a side note the change of coolant names was a big help thanks.

Thank you for the welcome.

The post is a generic fanuc post that I've been using in version 9 for some time. I have updated it for Mcamx to use with our version X that we have been using for about 6 months now. We are in transision. I went to the coolant M-Code section and changed the M-Code to the M14 for air on but the NC program still gave the original M-Code that was there before. I did save after making changes.

You made the name change in the machine def section.

 

Do you saee the option in your tool parameters when you pick a coolant option?

Yes I can change the name, in mach. def., and it shows up on the parameters page that all seems to be ok. When I try to change the post definition it still gives the M-Code that was there before.

this is all it has on the sm08_1 i changed the M12 to M14 and saved,reselected the post for the program but I still got an M12 for the option on the NC program.
