Okuma Post

I am a new user to Mastercam. I have always just winged it with a paper and calculator until now. Well I have a major project coming up. I am picking up on Mastwercam pretty fast but am confused as to how you get these post. Do you have to create them or buy them? The controls I need are Fanuc 18-M, Okuma OSP 7000M, and HAAS VF. Any help would be great. Thanks

Contact your reseller to get the posts you need for these machines.

As atated above, Randy and Mitch should be able to fix you up. The installation includes Haas and Fanuc and they should be able to supply a Okuma as well.

As a starting point, look on your cd. There are severall post on the cd that will work without any editing. Remember these are mostly generic posts. So there are no garantees they will work. If all else fells, contact your reseller..

What version are you using? The MPFAN and MPHAAS on the V9 CDs are pretty good for the Fanuc and the Haas. I don't have a 7000, but MPOKUMA has stood me pretty well for my Okumas.

 

That being said, I agree that you should contact your dealer because they may already have some posts that are a little cleaner than the 'stock' posts, which will allow you to break into post editing on a little slower stress curve.
