Dual Monitor Resolution

Greetings,

I have 2 Acer monitors running MCX2. The main display is a Acer AL1916 set up to 1280 x 1024 and my second display is an Acer AL1916W which is set up at 1440 x 900 - which is a widescreen. I have MC open up on my Widescreen display, via the NVIDIA drivers. It will only open up to 1280 x 1024. MC has an 1280 x 1024 dot config. file. I am assuming that is the reason. Does anyone know a way to force it to open to the 1440 x 900.

I am running a Dell 2407 and a Dell 2405, both widescreen and both at 1920 X 1200 resolution. Which Nvidia card/ software are you using?

FX-1400 With the the 91.36 Forceware (?-spelling). They are the latest drivers. The problem is the "Non" widescreen is at a different resolution. If I turn the 1916W down to the 1280 x 1024 it doesn't look very good.

Are you using the Nview software from Nvidia? I can change the resolutions independantly there.

Yes I am. Maybe there is a shareware or freeware that works with the NView control panel, is out there someplace.

If you are using the Nview, do you have the setting on "dualview" and not "clone"? This will allow you to run seperate resolutions on each monitor.

Yes I do. Again, the probelm is, I think, in MCX. It will not "auto" recognize anything above 1280 x 1024.

Corky, using dualview I can maximize mastercam to my widescreen, but both my monitors are widescreen, it may have something to do with the fact you have one widescreen and one standard aspect ratio monitor. I have the Go 1400 on my laptop.

I have a pair of 24" widescreens, and have only used 1920 X 1200 res. but I too have the 1280 X 1024 file in the config folder so i don't think that is the cause of your problem.

I will have to agree with Roger. Having one monitor set to a different resolution is the problem. Either I go with both widescreens or both standards is the answer. Hmmm - I like plan A.

I have 19" (1280 x 1024) and 21" (1600 x 1200) monitors. I have set the 21" as my primary and MC shifts from one to the other no problem. Originally I had the 19" as primary and there were sizing issues with MC.

That is exactly my problem!! I will probably have to do the same thing. Make my widescreen my main display, which again is 1400 x 900 and my standard display, which is 1280 x 1024 - for viewing MasterCAM.
