Waterline leadin question...

I am making a aluminum "box" 3" deep and am using the waterline pass to machine the inside and outside at the same time. I made one finish pass on the inside floor, but it wants to rapid in along one wall and then leadin say in the x direction against the wall. All the leadin values seem to only effect the "Z" direction. I can use a 2d contour pass if I have to but am trying to learn these high speed passes and I wonder if I (and my reseller) are missing an easy fix here. I did the change at point and did easily fix the rapid move but don't like the leadin either.
