1/32 coated flat endmill

We did 90 parts .047 thick 303 SS tiny window clean up. They threw the tube away that the endmill was in. I ordered tin coated worked okay. But the one that did the 90 parts was a 1/32 .055 LOC and had a dark black coating on the 4 flutes. Can anyone recommend what coating it might have had on it.

Your tool supplier may be able to look in the computer and see what you bought.

 

It is really hard to guess but it sounds like Hard Lube

If it's a dark coating I would say TiCN.

TiCN is more a silver color I thought.

 

As John said TiALN should be a dark color.
