We got our probe and it is AWSOME!!! Can't beleave we didn't get one sooner.

 

Thanks to all who helped me get the custom drill param set for the cylces.

 

My next question: is there a way to have the dia of the arc selected (drill>>entities) come up automatically in the post? This way I wouldn't have to enter it in the custom drill parameters.

 

I am not just lazy, but also would like things to be more automatic so less mistakes happen and things go faster.

I think you're asking too much on thsi one Eirc.

 

You post needs to get the information from somewhere unless you haed code. With probing cycles your information changes so hardcoding is out of the question it would seem

I just thought maybe the arc dia would be a code or something that is stored when selected. Oh well. This isn't all that bad with some of the funny tol we get here (5.500 +.005 +.006)

 

The custom cycles are still cool though.

Is there a way to utilize anything from the 5 axis drill cycle? This recognizes the diameters of different holes, could that be picked up somehow?

This is how I do it now, if not typing it in. This works good too.

 

I don't know the answer to Kyle's question, but it sounds interesting.
