open pocket feed

Does anyone know of a way of using open pocket where you can rapid the cutter back to the start point

Usually it feeds at the cutting feed back to the start point

I just did a test using open pocket. Under open pocket I did not select use open pocket cutting method. For cutting method I chose zig zag with finish pass dissabled. I did two depth cuts each going Z-.500. The cutter rapids back to the start point between the passes.

create a point where you want the tool to start. select the pocket toolpath. when the chaining dialog box comes up, click on the point first, then the chain. all roughing passes will start at the point.

 

* you can not use open pocket method while using a point.
