importing Cadra Files

I had several *.cad files from Cadra... Is there a way to bring these files into Mastercam?

 

I'sm sure we could "IGES" or something but they have 5+ years of files... I would hate to have to export each file one at a time and then bring it into Mastercam

Well, Mastercam doesn't read .cad files straight, so it would seem that to get them into MC you would need to export tham as iges to begin with.

No, we don't import them, and there haven't been more than 1 or 2 requests for it in my time here.

Thanks... I think we may have just lost the sale... they don't want to have to convert them one at a time......

 

I was hoping some had a "third" party to convert them

That's why I pointed you to the website - I know there's a free viewer, but I don't know what else they might provide.

Also, they're going to have a hard time finding ANYONE who will read them...

I use cadra and mastercam. In cadra you can save file as dwg format, then open in mc

Is exporting each file as needed really that big of a deal? I'd rather spend a minute exporting the file, and then using an industry standard cam system, than some oddball that just happens to open .cad files(is there any out there that do?). I mean one minute! You waste more time everyday getting coffee i'm sure.
