Visible IGES translation

Did MX2 MR1 change the option to export only the visible layer? If so, how do you do it?

Save some works now. Hit save some, select geometry, change file extention.

I tried the save some and the only extension it gives me is MCX. I am on X2 MR1.

Change the "Save as type" to "All files", then just add the IGS to the end of the file name.

Yes you have save some as MCX then open new file and

save as... I think they are working on this one.

They allready fixed this. I use this to send files to inspection. You can see the differenc in file size alone. I made a file for insection the other day thinking I was in X2-MR1 (was actually in X2) and the file came out as 130MB. I turned around and opened the same file in MR1 and saved some as IGS 46MB.

I did the save as and changed the extension to iges and it worked.

It still would be nice if it worked the same way as in the previous versions. I export iges all the time to bring into Pro/e.

We actually have caught some grief over the years because of the way it worked in previous versions. When you 'Save' a file, for many people the understanding is that you save the entire file. In this case, users complained, for instance, that all the levels weren't being written out.

 

In X2 MR1 you can use Cuda84's instructions to do a SaveSome to IGES. In X2 MR2, all the CAD file types that we export to will be available in SaveSome's "Files Of Type" dropdown.

Cuda84's instructions only work for IGS but does not work with DXF.
