GENERATE MC8 WITH A TOOLPATH

Hello,

 

Is there any option in MC8 to generate a .MC8 filewith an iso or heidenhain file assigning the tools and the parameters? Would be like the inverted procedure.

Well the ISO or Heidenhein stuff is more a function of the Post Processor (file that takes the NCI code and converts it to G-Code) rather than the *.mc8 or even Mastercam.

 

You're first question is sort of vague though. Are you asking that if you create say a rectangle, you'll already have toolpath generated when the rectangle is completed? The answer to that would be not exactly. The reason the answer is "not exactly" is because if for example you do "similar parts", meaning that the toolpaths would be the same, just different size parts or something like that, you can create a library, that you can later import and just apply the new geometry to the toolpath, regen and you're done.

 

I would suggest that you get some training at either your local community college/trade school or your local Mastercam reseller. Your local reseller is probably the best bet but may cost but it would be well worth it.

That's right James,

 

I've understood that i can create an squared toolpath with a cube solid for example, but i cannot create a cube solid with an squared toolpath.
