Hi All,

I'm trying to output the value of mr7 without the "mr7" prefix (no quotes), i put this line before outputting mr7

result = nwadrs(sblank, mr7)

where sblank is defined in Address string definitions as nothing, I'm still getting the mr7, does anyone have any ideas?

thanks,

Jg

yes, you will need a format statement for MR7.

fmt T 4 mr7 #format output for Misc. Real #7

The above format statement would output MR7 as an integer (format statement #4). What kind of format do you need for that number? You might want to use Format statement #7 instead:

fmt T 7 mr7 #...

Note that the "T" in the format statement above is really just a place holder because you are using the nwadrs function in the post to strip off the prefix string.

"...should it be set?"

Yes, that is why you're getting the "mr7" in front of the value.

Find the format statements in your PST (the lines start with 'fs2').

Pick the one (do not use 'fs2 1') that will give you the numeric formatting desired when the value in 'mr7' is output and assign it using the 'fmt' command.

Example (using a format available in MPFAN.PST):

fmt 12 mr7$

It's cool Jg... we were ALL n00bs at one time!

I Definitely resemble that !

Colin,

I'm using it to output a incremental A axis cutting move on a 5ax machine (B/C, Head/Head)

so the decimal seems to work good.

thanks again,

Jg
