importing operations

Why is it that when I import a group of operations some of the tool numbers have been changed to zero? Is there anything I can do to keep this from happening? Thanks in advance.

I think this was a bug in earlier releases of X but I think it has been fixed.. I used to have same problem but dont anymore.. currently running version thats in my sig...

Im running X2 MR1 mill level 3.

 

I did a search on this and didn't find much.

I'm just trying to work out some of the few remaining problems I have. Thanks for the response.

This happened to me yesterday. X2 MR1 SP1. The tool's in the operation I imported did'nt change to 0, but they did'nt maintain there orginal values.

Are you using values from tool?

 

If you are do you have your tool defined with a tool #

I have it set to use value from tool,

and all of my tools are numbered on the tool page itself.

if your importing an operation and you want to make sure that the tools represent the same as in the operration being brought in, import your tool list first from that operation. Make sure that in your tool settings page you have the 'search tool library when entering a tool number' checked on.

Now your tools will be brought in with the same #'s as the op that you will be importing.

I leave all of my tools numbered as zero in the tool library. Then once I bring them into my file I number them in whatever order I need them. Then I export the programs to the operation library. Do you think this is what's causing my problem?
