I am wondering if someone cam help me, I some detail to burn for a customer and they call out a ntma #160 and an ntma 280 surface finish, is this same as microinch or a seperate form of measurement? I am trying to deterime the power settings to use in our charmilles burner, any info would be greatly appreciated.

Any call out for an EDM type finish will be commonly referenced by a Moldtech #,and their numbers would start at 11000--For example 11020 is the actual moldtech finish on your monitor. I also don't recall anything by these letters,in my machinist handbooks . I am not convinced this should be identified without calling the customer, and just ask for their spec book(spec sheet).

Yeah, I'd have to see the customer's specs too. The most common surface finish callout in everything BUT mold making is Ra or Roughnesss Average.
