Hello everyone - I have a post question for you. I have a Quickmill bridge mill, it is an awfull machine but it is the one we have. The control does not have cutter comp or R planes in drilling cycles. Instead of using an r plane for drilling,

G54 X5. Y-2.

M3 S2000

Z2.

G98 G83 X5. Y-2. R-2. Z-.15 F2.

X0 Y1.

G80

The control requires at G54 Z shift before using the tool, it does not read the R

G54 X5. Y-2.

G54 Z-2.

M3 S2000

Z2.

G98 G83 X5. Y-2. Z-.15 F2.

X0 Y1.

G80

G54 Z2.

You have to instate the G shift with the z negative value before drilling and then shift back after the G80

Can I edit the post to do this automatically?

Thank you.

Do all of your drilling cycles need to read this way.

If yes, then sure this is something that can be done.

I'd have to play with it a bit to get the code just but yeah I think you could.

I'll see what I can throw together later today, unless someone does it sooner.

To learn how to edit posts, purchase the V9 Post processor reference guide from your reseller, dive into the post parameter reference .pdf that is in your documents folder under c:/mcam.

Start reading, search the forum, there is a ton of information about it and different things that have been done.
