Monarch VMC 150 Dynapath 5c controll

Hi everyone, my first post here.

I've been a mastercam user since about 1995. Have had a few years off, business wasn't doing so well, but now have opened up a new machine shop and I'm getting back into the swing of things. I have just purchased a Monarch VMC as stated in the subject line. I have ran in the past a few Fadal's and one dynapath delta 20, with few problems. BUT I have never had experiance with a Tape machine before. There is an rs 232 port that has been added. I probably will hook up a BTR to the machine and start from there, unless the drip feed on this machine will work ok, then I could use the rs232 port. The main question I have is can I use the mastercam post for the dynapath sys10, or will it have to be modified.

The next question is to anyone with experiance with tape machines, What is the power up sequence of the tape machines, with the exec and comp tapes, which I don't have by the way, yet.

I would appreciate anyone input on this matter. I haven't taken delivery of the machine yet. It is in very good shape, well maintained. I am runnibg mastercam V6 level 3. I plan on upgrading soon.

Thanks

Brian

Well in all honesty I would reccomend contacting the Machine Tool Builder. Monarch Machine Tools They would most likely be able to tell you the correct power-up sequence. As for the post, I've never used a Monarch or that style of control before.

Hopefully the link will put you in touch with someone who knows.
