When I just send programs I have the flow control set on "hardware", when I drip feed I have to set to "software and hardware" Try That

Stop The Press Got It My main problem is that the comment text MUST be all in capital letters, I had them in lower case and it would not go.... Other than that it will load a fanuc post as long as it has the letter E at the very end, nothing at the start. It will even take muttiple codes per line on this one. It used to be a version of mpmaster till I got hold of it----LOL----I had to eliminate all G00's and output a G01 F200 for all rapid moves, and chage H calls to D calls and output the D tool length call on each line except for cuttercomp lines, then I had to output the D call for diameter. I also had to call the feedrate on eveyline as well, cause when I change to the f200 for rapid, it would stay that way....LOL and more I will send you a copy to look at when I get a chance. Thanks

Thanks M Andersdon, I got the fax and am going to try after this program is done. Heavy Metal, looks as though my main problem was that I had multiple G codes on one line. There can only be one of each type of code on each line and no spaces. Does anyone have a post to do this. I have one I modified for a system C and it is setup that way, but I also had to omit decimal points and a few other wierd things to get it to work, to try and change it might be a challenge---LOL Thanks Guys Cad

WOw, that sounds like my problem, What would I be into to modify a post to do that, could I add it to the end of each line number??

That would be great, I know even the name (test) or whatever I call it, looks like its japanese before I get the format error, so it must be early in the file when it errors out, like within the first couple of lines. Seems like the whole program loads, then the format error comes up when its done and the name in the catalog is P00000000 with zero bytes. Thanks for your help

Hi Guys I have a dynapath post tweaked perfectly for mastercam but I remember reading that the control would accept EIA g code. Well I tried to get a generic fanuc post to go, but all I kept getting was a format error fault. Has anyone got it to go, I would like to know how they did it. Thanks Cadman268

Well, because a lot of the design will be used to create the mold after, the better one would be one with a lot of core and cavity features as well. Also another important factor for me would be the ability to flatten a complex surface model to get an accurate blank size for die work. As for the surfacing, I need to be able to design shapes like car quarter panels and hoods and free form shapes like that, nothing like human faces or things of that nature. I will definately be using mastercam to do the cnc machining. Thanks for your input so far, I think I will leave Ideas behind and seriously look at UG. Will have a look at Alias as well. Thanks for the reply Cadcam, I am leaning towards Ideas!! The first part I have in mind for this is a new invention that someone wants me to start from scratch, fairly complex surfaces, need to design the concept, present it, change it, then design the mold and produce the part. I have been using Pro e up to date and tried to put something together with pro-e(with the advanced surface module) and it wasn't friendly enough to let me do what I wanted. I trained on UG back at V10, thats why I was wondering how the 2 compared, I know EDS owns both now. Thanks again

I am deciding whether to go with Unigraphics or Ideas for my surface modeller. I do mostly automotive, metal stampings and plastic injection parts. Designing Dies and Molds. Anyone have any insight in to which is better for what I have described?? TIA Cadman

Anyone know where I can get a Dynapath System 5C post, I heard that it was availiable for version 9 somewhere. I converted mine, it is working ok, but the planes are getting messed up, therefor no arcs in the filter, which is one of the main reasons I upgraded. Thanks for replies!!!

Another area that I would like to change the defaults in V9 is the program dialog defaults. I could do this in v7, but can't find it here. When you start a toolpath, and click contour parameters or pocket parameters of lead in lead out, I would like to change those defaults so I have less info to type in. Thanks Cadman268
