xform unroll

Can someone give me some tips for unrolling a chain. I'm new on mcx and am not sure what I'm doing wrong. The chain is in the zx plane and I want to unroll it onto the xy plane. My cplane is set to top, unroll axis is y. I select the chain, set the parameters and get nothing. Any help would be appreciated.

are you working from the left or right side and what is your t-plane set to.

Make sure you're using teh "unroll" switch on the dialog as opposed to the "roll" switch. The pic below will show the "unroll" switch circled. The red geometry in the diagram above the switch indicates what the current geometry looks like. Also having the "Preview" option turned on will allow you to see the result before you accept it with either the Apply (blue circle, white plus) or OK (green check) button. HTH
