What more can Mcam offer on the cam side??

I've heard the arguments for mcam not to develope into MasterCAD, but when it is so good on the CAM side, why not try to develope the cad side more? At this point, I'd rather do single models in mcam than in any other solids package (barring, of course, the parametric thing). But when will we be able to link solids together to do assemblies? Don't get me wrong, I love mcam, but this would certainly be a great improvement on the cad side of things.

I second, no wait, Ernie seconded(is that a word?) it so I propose we bring it to a vote, all in Favor say Aye. I smell a poll coming. Shoot, if VX can do it, Mastercam can certainly create Mastercad, hey, I'll bet they already own the rights to Mastercad.

 

Still though, we should bring it up for a vote. Make it on par with a Solid Works, Inventor, or Solid Edge.

Isn't that Mastercam Design? Just improve the Design seat to include Solid assemblies. There's also the Draft program but that doesn't support solids at all. Cast my vote for "Aye".

I agree. Solid assemblies would be very helpful to me. I would also like to see the ablity to import SolidWorks assemblies, and not just the part files, similar to how we can bring in the SolidEdge and Inventor assemblies.
