0Kb .STL file after verify

Ok, next problem, I have been trying to verify through my toolpaths to see how they affect the finished part and sometimes when I try to save the STL I get a file with 0Kb.

I have used X2, X2 MR1 SP1, and X2 MR2 and have had the same problem with the first two, with X2 MR2 I get a warning, but still no Kb's.

This happens intermittently and it seems that once I verify a toolpath that does this I can't get a good STL afterwards.

Does anyone have any ideas?

a 0kb STL usually means that Verify is failing so save the STL, either because of low memory, or a problem with intersecting triangles.

 

Are you set to Binary or ASCII STL output? Binary uses 4 times less memory vs. ASCII.

Out of Verify I know of no way to have that choice. The only time I see the option is if you are using XFORM stl, when saving you are prompted for the format.

I found the settings they appear to be set to binary as a default.

I dont get a 0 kb file. It will not let me save the file as a .STL after verify. The save to .stl is grayed out. I can do the same thing in X2 SP1 and everything is fine.

 

I have had nothing but problems since installing MR2 as far as verify goes.

Do you have "Use True Solid" box checked in the verify options? I am working on another file and can save the .STL with MR2.

I have tried everything in MR2. I can only get it to work in X2 SP1. I open the same file and the same .stl in SP2 and it works fine but, in MR2 once the verify is complete I have no option to save as .STL, it is grayed out.
