OT : Iso Program on Mazak Horizontal

Hi,

One of our guys has transferred a g-code program from one of our other horizontals onto a Mazak FH6800 horizontal. The issue we are having is that the machine seems to lose its position and would drive into the pallet within the first lines of each tool. This does not happen if program is run in single block or if straight after tool has been loaded into spindle.

Has anybody experienced this before?

Thanks in advance

Hi mufcmark74 and Tinny.

We have had a similar problem with our Mazak Variaxis 500 with a Matrix control.

We run our machine from the centre of rotation and have had the machine lose it's position and this has sent the tool into the workpiece.

The machine is only 8 months old and this has happened about 4 times - each time an engineer has been required to replace encoders and check alignment.

We run ISO G-code in our Mazak Variaxis 630 for last few years without any problem.

The problem is THE LENGHT OFFSET LINE.

The Mazak has it own lenght offset table come with each tool. So in program format don't use any H number in G43 line.

Ex: (this is what we use)

N1 T1 M6

N100 (#5 EXT. CENTER DRILL)

N102 S1019 F3.06

N104 (M16 HOLES)

N106 G0 G90 A0. C0.

N108 X-1.3386 Y0.

N110 G43 Z15.149 M8 ( <==== No H1 value )

N112 M3

N114 G98 G81 Z9.864 R10.124 F3.06

N116 X1.3386 Y0.

N118 G80

N120 M9

N122 M5

N124 G91 G28 Z0.

do you have your parameters set corectlly?

there are 2 types of wear and length comp plus there is a really nasty little parameter which sounds like your problem it says something about return through position, I can look it up tonight when I get home I have several highlighted in my parameter manuals. When I use to set up these machines I would change several before the customer received it for this reason.
