Simple Pocketing routines

I have recently upgraded to V9. I have tried a simple pocketing routine and everything goes haywire. I have redrawn the 2d portion of the part, and tried again with no success!. I exported the geometry as 2d and imported it back in and tried it again with no success. At this point, I went to a co-workers computer that has V8.1.1 and tried the same dxf and had success! If anyone wants to take a look at it just let me know!

I e-mailed the file to you... Let me know if you have a problem with the small step-over values. BTW... I didnt remove V8 prior to V9... Dont think it makes a difference, but one never knows!

Hi sir, Idid this with a 1/32 EM with a .0025 step, no trouble at all.

 

Then went back as small as .0015 still works except constant step over.

For this I need to make a tollrence change.

On the second Paramater Page go under Advance and change this value smaller.

then procced to .002 step over in the constant overlap.

cadcam, I am having some trouble with 2D pockets with islands using constant overlap spiral. I had an 8 inch circle with 3 1 inch circle islands on a 2 inch radius 120 degrees apart. Use 50% stepover with a 1 inch tool, pocketing 1 inch deep and .030 depth cuts. I had trouble with the tool invading the island and gouging the part. Try this and let me know if the tool gets the island. Thanks

I had a similar problem a couple of weeks Ago. I had to break the circles(islands) into 2 arcs.

Then it worked fine.

As you can see I like to test these file on my side.

 

I like to know if it is a bug or some thing like a setting as in the front side of the post.
