MR2 tool# and Height/Diameter offset do not match

Where is the setting to match tool #/height and diameter offsets?

RANT:

Why is it that every time I update Mastercam I have to find hidden settings in 3 or 4 different places and change them to make Mastercam work correctly?

Isn't that the point of having configuration files????

TO KEEP YOUR CUSTOM SETTINGS!!!!!!

Why bother?

It worked in version 9 and all the previous versions just fine.

Ever since V10 Now there is 10 different files you have to move and it still doesn't work correctly.

I Migrated my settings between MR1 and MR2 and it's still Screwed up! WTF!!!! curse.gif

I understand in some cases you want to use a different offset # than your tool number but the norm has to be to match them right?

why not make THAT the default setting?

Why make it some ridiculous tool # +1+7+1000 makes no sense formula that would never work for any situation?

Sorry, I feel better now.

someone please help before I break something.

Thank You,

-Mike

Michael,

I have the same issue EVERY TIME I use migration.

I have tried repeatedly to explain the situation to [email protected] but have been unable to convince them that a problem exists.

I also have other settings not being carried over at migration... For example, my "EA Manager" settings get hosed every time...

PLEASE, if you want this fixed, send an e-mail to QC. So far, I believe I am the only person reporting this type of issue...

If enough people report the issue they will be convinced that there really is a problem with migration...

P.S. John Kulp is correct about what to fix...

Some people use "from tool" because they have large enough carousels to hold most of their tools and these tool #'s will never change. So they create their libraries to match what is in machine. You don't have to renumber tools except for the ones not in dedicated tool pots. Even then you could import your whole directory to begin with and then change to the "add tools sequentially" for any added tools to the program. I wish our carousels held enough so that we could dedicate tool #'s and offsets. I do still dedicate a certain amount of them and bring in my dedicated libray first and then add to it.
