Application Error

After a corporate mandated switch to McAfee Virus Software, I'm getting an Application Error:

"Application failed to initialize properly(0xc0000142)click on OK to terminate the application. I've tried to run the repair,tried to uninstall and then install with the virus software disabled.Same error. Nothing I tried seems to work. Any suggestions? This is V9.

What is the OS you are running ?

What is your Macafee version?

When you have run the last Macafee update?

I am O.K. with macafee scan engine 4.1.60 ,

virus definitions 4.04199 under win 98 SE and Win2000 mastercam 8.1.1.

The OS is Win2000. I'm not sure of the version.(IT installed it and they haven't made it in this morning.)I watched as it had the latest update pulled off the internet. Sorry I don't have more inforation right now.

What steps in Mastercam cause the error to appear?

I don't know if this will help you at all but just last week I kept getting an application error also, I spent days tearing my hair out because I couldn't do a single thing without it crashing on me. Finally I figured out it was the Appmach90-031102 files that are downloaded as a patch were what was causing the problem. I deleted all these files and all my problems went away.

Just thought I would let you know.

Thanks for the replies. I didn't know at the time, but PC Anywhere was also installed at the same time as the Anti Virus Software.(trying to see what I'm really doing,I guess.)as soon as it was uninstalled, MC ran fine. I appreciate the help.

Just wanted to add that I had the same problem today and it was the PCAnywhere host running in the background that caused this error.
