Mori Seiki Lathe Post Pocessor

Hi everyone!

I have a Mori Seiki NL2000 lathe with mitsubishi 700 and I,m having trouble with the post processor.

My Mastercam dealer seems to have trouble to build one that works properly for me!

I have spent a lot of money on it and I'm getting tired of it not working so I wonder if anyone have a proper working one for me?

Please??! smile.gif

I run MX2 MR2 and the machine has a tailstock instead of a sub-spindle.

Thanks in advance! /Victor - Sweden cheers.gif

PS. I'm sorry if my english isn't that great... DS:

Rule #1: Don't ask for a Post Processor.

Ask this question as your first message here and you won't necessarily like the responses you receive. The eMastercam.com Lynch Mob is on much higher alert than you could ever imagine.

Look to your reseller to supply you with the proper post for your machine, or quote for the work that needs to be done.

If you have something and are looking for improvements, it's a reasonable request. Maybe tell us why the post you have needs improvement.

Perhaps try to participate a bit on the Forum before you go asking for something. Not unlike Habitat for Humanity, we value Sweat Equity here. Quid pro quo, Clarice.

You may also want to let everyone know your company name so that your Hotmail or Yahoo email account doesn't give everyone the impression that you aren't a licensed Mastercam user.

Hi Victor!

Please read the FAQ. banghead.gif

Asking for a post in your first topic it´s not a good beginning at all. People here do believe (So do I) that before doing such, we should contribute first. And also to prove that we are legit users before asking for a post. Both things (Contribute and attesting) takes time. Fair enough IMO. biggrin.gif

Anyway, since you have spent some money, as you said you did so, in your shoes I´d talk to your reseller to get in touch with In-house solutions and ask for a quote for a Mori/Mitsubish post. Since they already have something similar for free (Yes, maybe you can get a free post to re-start with - through - and only through - your dealer - Please visit this page for more details), it will not be costly, I guess. It depends on what you want. Probably you are looking for something unusual, aren´t you? I presume this because the generic Fanuc posts shipped with Mastercam are very good (I´ve seen dozens of users here using them successfully), supporting both tailstock and dual turrets/spindles. Since I´m no longer a Mastercam user, I could not provide you specific details about how to configure it, but I guess X has a feature called "machine combos", which will allow you to configure your machine options/features so that Mastercam will "see" it and use only the available resources, this is also applicable to the post-processing.

In short, you better start asking "How to do/make a post mod" instead of something like "Have you guys a post to share for the machine xxxx"

Please don´t take us bad. Post-processors are expensive and detain alot of intelectual property. Most of people do care about sharing them for free, since there are a good amount of man-hours behind them. Of course that some posts are shared here, but this occurs usually between old users, and behind the scenes.

By the way - Welcome aboard! cheers.gifcheers.gif

Med venlig hilsen,
