Contour - Ramp-Open Contour

Anyone notice in contour ramp if you check "one way ramping for open contours" it does nothing different? I thought it would just go in one direction. It cuts the first pass reverses and cuts next etc.

 

Shouldnt it cut first pass reposition to start point and cut 2nd pass etc.?

 

I want to climb mill this pocket but guess I cant with contour ramp.

wouldn't a 2D contour give you what you want?

Also, it does do it differently. Look closely at the side and you'll see that it returns to the front of the chain at a constant z depth.

I think it works OK

using angle or depth the plunge is only plunging

on climb cut...the return is convential cut

and is not plunging. If you uncheck one way ramping.... it will plunge on the return

also,,, which is two way ramping

the ramping is one way, not the return
