chain partial ?

Version 9 refugee with a simple question. How would I select chain partial when using delete or change level or change color. No extra dialoge box appears like it does for toolpath contour. The only thing I seem to be able to select is chain, window, polygon, single, etc. When I called Axsys the tech guy told me to hold down the shift key which is not what im looking for. I am using X2 MR2 also. Thanks

pick the chain and then select the entity you what to be the end of the selection. It should then change to a partial chain selection

Yes...hold the shift key, or RIGHT click the chain icon you mentioned to lock it into chain selection mode. Then select the first and last entity.

Or you could download AI Utility (search the forum). There's an option there to add the chain manager to a toolbar. Then you can call up the chain manager any time you want for anything you want.
