lathe tool numbering

I would like to use in 3 different turret positions the same tool (example MDJNR) but when I renumber the second tool the message I get is

"Changing this tool will update your operations"

and the first tool station will be renumbered as well. Any work around this problem?

You could create a new tool each time.

If I understand, you want to use multile of the same type of holder in different turret positions. If you edit the tool to your new number & then use the save to library button to save a copy of the tool with the new numbers & then cancel out of editing the tool you should be able to get the new tool from your library.
