Heidenhain TNC131/135 Comms

Hi there,

We have an old Kearn and Richards borer fitted with a TNC131/135 Controller, that has the magnetic tape reader (dont laugh smile.gif ). I've hooked the controller up to a laptop, and I am able to send programmes from the controller to the laptop using Easytalk, and they receive fine. However, when I send back to the controller it comes up with "incorrect data received" or something to that effect.

I've tried different header options, and tried different comms options, but nothing has worked.

I'm curious as to wether there is anyone out there communicating with one of these controllers with a PC, and what was required to make it do so.

Hi Mick,

The Heidenhain TNC131/135 controller needs to have the Heidenhain Blockwise checksum protocol in place in order to send into the controller. The Easytalk system has that ability but must be setup accordingly. If you are having issues the contact for EASYTALK and CNC Innovations, Inc. is Jim Smith or Gary Pray at Telephone: (413) 566-5770.

Sincerely,

John Carpenter
