Mastercam Editor will not open

I have loaded Mastercam X2 MRS SP1 on Windows XP via the web. I cannot get the Mastercam Editor to run after a post. Get message "Could not find path to Mastercam X". In "Settings", Start/Exit I can set editor to Notepad and that will work. We have Mastercam X2 SP1 on Windows 2000 machines and the Mastercam editor will open on them. Any suggestions, Thanks.

did you load mr2 sp1 side by side or over the top

of mr1. you could get problems like that if two versions are loaded side by side.

This is a clean install with no previous versions on the computer.

In your machine definition/Files/Post excecutable/Data path correct?

try changing the editor to pf32. if that opens

then we know we have a problem with the mastercam editor. if it does'nt open, then i would do a repair install.

I changed the editor to PF32 and that opens after post. I will try a repair.

I did a repair to the installation and that did not work.

Do you have a big monitor? On my computer with a 30 inch monitor, the Mastercam editor won't open. Any other editor does though.

I had this problem before and this comes when I try to uninstall some previous versions of Mcam.

 

At that time I got help from CNC software directly and got fixed.

before you do a repair install,you should delete the mastercam editor folder. its in mcamx/common/

editors/mastercam. shut down.then repair install.

I had problems with two monitors set up. If this is the case, make sure it is in dual view and not horizontal mode.
