RS-232 to rj45 adapter

I have converters from rs-232 to a rj45 and back again on the Hass units use 8 wires so there is no conflict in going from a rs232 to cat5 shielded. Anyone know how many units i can hook up to a PC using multiport serial adapters such as a Rocketport 550. MasterCam shows 4 Com ports although Windows shows 18 com ports. Any Ideas.

The Mastercam program only recognizes the 4 standard com ports.

 

However, the CIMCO editor and DNC programs will recognize the others. I would suggest that if you need to communicate with more than 1 machine at a time that you contact your dealer or CIMCO (www.cimco.dk)or any other program you may like.

Welcome to the Forum. Craig is correct. You can also find information about Cimco products from this website: Cimco Integration. The DNC software will manage all the connections to as many machines as you have in the shop. Cimco's DNC-Max administrator finds connections you didn't know were there. HTH
