Testing out a new post

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

We have a new machine on the floor today...

Fadal 4020 3-axis vertical mill w/ Fanuc control...

I have a post from the Fadal dealer. Hopefully it is all "dialed-in" already but I have never been that optomistic...

As I begin programming files for this machine I wonder if anybody has a Mastercam test file that they use to test out all areas of the post to see if the control chokes on anything...

I am thinking a thorough test file to dry-run could be a lot more efficient than trial-and-error...

Thanks in advance for any ideas... cheers.gif

Matt,

We have our Fadal set to Format 2 so it will accept Fanuc code. I use the mpmaster post and it works great right out of the gate. The mpmaster will give you G54's instead of E's but if you have a Fanuc control that is most likely what you want. Also I'm sure someone here could help you change it to output E's if that is what you want. If the post form the Fadal dealer gives you any trouble I would try mpmaster it works great on our Fadal and is very customizable.

Justin
