New CNC setup

I have a suzuka mill, a Yasnac 3000g controller, greco MTIC and Mastercam 9.

 

I have a couple of newbe type questions.

 

1) Is the yasnac 3000G controller supported by Mastercam 9.

 

2)How involved is it to get all this up and running?

That's an OLD control and and old post cicra 1980.

 

Yes V9 should support it but the post might have to be hunted for, your dealer is likely going to have to help you with that task.

 

 

BTW, is this the same machine in question from nearly 3 years ago?

I don't know how close the 3000g is to an MX3, but if you throw up some code I'll see what she looks like.

I believe it has the same format as the fanuc 3000 control.

if that is the case then most of the stuff is pretty regular. make sure you find the documentation on the cutter compensation. I seem to remember an issue when calling g41 and g42.

I never used it but the issue sticks in my brain for some reason.

anyway you cant ignore this because it wont work like the series 6 and after controls.
